Our volumetric scanner provides the clinician with multiple views of the TMJ. These views include: panoramic, axial, coronal, lateral, frontal, and 3-dimensional. Diagnostic photographs, demonstrating the patient's occlusion, lateral deviations, and incisal opening are included with every TMJ scan.
To fully examine the TM joint, it must be visualized from various perspectives. A typical TMJ study will provide the referring doctor with a panoramic cut from the scan data and a frontal view across the heads of the condyles.

Another page provides an image of the molar relationship and axial scout views to demonstrate where each cut was made. There are typically five lateral cuts and two frontal cuts on each side.

3-dimensional views are also provided that show an easily understood view of the positioning of the condyle in the fossa. This is quite helpful during case presentation to the patient.
